The Fab Two does the Fab Four, fabulously!

Review by artistic director of 2025 townsville folk festival

I asked Those Folk to facilitate a Beatles Sing along to kick off the Townsville Folk Festival 2025.  They took up the challenge with gusto and left us all humming our favourite Beatles tunes for hours afterwards.

As their carefully curated song tempos started to build, so too did the growing chorus of back-line singers as the patrons flooded into the festival village.  I took advantage of introducing other festival bands between the Those Folk sets to keep the Beatles theme going non-stop.  It could not have gone better and I’m still getting accolades for the show through festival feedback.

As an artistic director, I could not be happier with the outcome.  They turned my plan into a beautiful artistic reality.

Thank you, Those Folk

"Thank you to 'Those Folk' for the delightful afternoon last Saturday. Our Home Owners at GemLife Palmwoods were thrilled with your performance, and we could not have chosen a better duo for our inaugural musical entertainment at the new Country Club.

The Beatles concert was a resounding success, bringing back wonderful memories as we all sang along to the timeless classics from our era. The combination of dancing and singing created a memorable experience for everyone in attendance.

Thanks to both you and Lawrence for your exceptional performance. We look forward to the opportunity to host you again in the future."
